Action Research in Greek Traditional Dance: Implementation and Self-Reflection

The aim of this study is to evaluate the application action research methodology in compulsory course titled “Choreology with emphasis on Greek traditional dance” School Physical Education and Sport Science National Kapodistrian University Athens, based experiences self-reflection researcher himself, concerning data collected from participants research. For that purpose, ethnographic was conducted three phases: a) collection, b) analysis c) interpretation. Data collection observation interviews, while interpretation were under terms “self-reflection” “thick description.” In conclusion, a method has only been applied scarcely not at all dance (GTD), as particular — by its nature does exclusively improving participants’ performance one technique, but, instead, interweaving theory practice redefining relationship between teacher student. Nevertheless, process highlighted applicability variety prospects teaching subject GTD context PE, did learn “the or “about dance”, but also “through dance”.
